Jude Allan - Chair 

Jude started as a packaging technologist at the drinks division of Mars before taking the experience of life as a client over to the world of a packaging design agency.
For almost 20 years Jude championed and led the production and creative operations at jonesknowlesrtichie as it grew from a London based packaging design agency to a global design business with offices in London, New York, Singapore and Shanghai.

Jude and her team were responsible for delivering creative packaging designs into market for a wide range of much-loved brands from global favourites to local heroes as well as launching new start-up brands.

Working closely with brands such as Budweiser, Mars, Molton Brown, McVitie’s, Dulux paints and Hippeas, she has a rich and varied experience of the packaging industry, the challenges of innovation and the needs of brand owners to respond to their consumers demands.

In 2018 she took on the role of chief operating officer at a start-up engineering agency in London with a manufacturing and project management office in Shenzhen, China. She spent a frenetic eighteen months at RPD International professionalising the business and developing the skills of a young group of entrepreneurs and engineers.

She has a BEng in Materials Science and the IOM3 Diploma of Packaging Technology



Emma Wise

…a fellow of the institute of packaging and self-confessed packaging nerd. Emma’s career in packaging spans nearly 25 years, from rigid boxes, luxury cartons, injection-moulding, blow-moulding, tool-making, litho printing and more latterly vacuum forming in her current role as Sales & Marketing Manager for Bebo UK (thermoforming arm of RPC Group). She has worked for the crème da crème of market leaders and is a regular speaker at industry events, helping to educate and inspire students and brand owners


Keith Barnes 

Keith has been involved in the world of packaging for over 50 years.  Management roles within Ilford Ltd ( Photographic) and Boots led on to a career in Consultancy.  Mintel was a major client where Keith  helped to organize their GNPD packaging section. Keith is a Fellow of the old Institute of Packaging, a past Chair and Trustee. He is also a past Chair of the Packaging Society, a Chartered Scientist, Chartered Environmentalist and a Fellow of the RSA.

Keith organised the Packaging  section of Materials Congress 2005 and is part of  the Surface Engineering Committee, Energy materials Group, Sustainability Development Group and is involved with Innovate UK. He has provided numerous articles and presentations on packaging and acts as the coordinator for the Packaging Summer School held annually in the UK for Michigan State University. He is highly motivated by Packaging Education, Innovations, Waste & Recycling and the current plastics problems.


Gregor Anderson

Gregor Anderson is Device and Packaging Design Director at GSK:  based at Ware, UK. He has a B.Sc. in Industrial Design and a M.Sc. in Polymer Science and Engineering.

After completing a Postgraduate in Marketing for Heriot Watt University in 1986 he worked for Smiths Industries Medical Systems as device designer. This position involved him partnering closely with surgeons and anesthetists to develop products such as specialist tracheotomy systems and single use surgical equipment. In 1989 he joined the Device Development Unit, Inhaled Products, Glaxo R&D, as Senior Designer. He worked on the design and development of various device platforms including: Diskus, auto-injectors and dose counters. In 2009 Greg moved to Global Manufacturing to head up the Technical Packaging Group. More recently he has focused on supporting the launches of the Ellipta Inhaler, respiratory training devices and also researching and preparing GSK’s respiratory and packaging strategy for Emerging Markets including Sub Sahara Africa.  He holds over 40 patents and has expertise in patient centric design and has presented papers on this topic globally. 


David Little

Managing Director of Leonard Little & Associates Ltd. (Est 1976)

Packaging Consultant, Trainer and Agent for Macarbox a Spanish corrugate machinery manufacturer (Corrugators, Flexo Folder Gluers, Digital Presses and Laser Cutting).David has over 30 years’ experience in the Packaging Industry. David is a Print Technologist (DIT) and a Packaging Technologist (IOP). He is a Fellow of IOM3 - The Packaging Society, Chair of the Irish Packaging Society and Member of the UK Packaging Society board. David is a lecturer in Packaging Technology, in Ireland and the UK.

Experienced in: Corrugate, flexible film, cartons, labels, rigid plastics, pre-press / repro and print production equipment. He has extensive print experience, across all processes.We support your, new product packaging development, new business plans, supplier audits, SOP’s, QC problem solving, brand management, press passes & packaging training.

Sarah Greeenwood

With degrees in Physics and Polymer Science from the University of Sheffield, Sarah has over 20 years’ experience in the plastics and packaging industries.  She has held technical positions at BP Performance Films, Asda, Fox’s Biscuits, Mars and Sun Branding Solutions.

She currently works at The University of Sheffield as Packaging Technology Expert/Leader at the Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures, and also runs her own packaging consultancy

Sarah is delighted to be an advisor to Garçon Wines whose flat wine bottle has won multiple awards including the UK Packaging Awards Innovation of the Year 2018.

She is a fellow and a board member of The Packaging Society, chairs the North of England Packaging Society and enjoys being part of the grass roots music scene in Yorkshire.


Barry Jones

Barry has delivered packaging innovation and technical management for leading: brand owners, retailers and design groups for over thirty five years, working in: food, beverages, pre-press, clothing, pharma, health and beauty in thirty eight countries.  Before becoming an independent technical consultant, he founded and ran Britain’s leading firm of technical packaging managers The Packaging Development Company selling it to one of Britain’s largest packaging design group JKR.

He is a University of Manchester graduate, chartered scientist, Fellow of The Packaging Society and the RSA, as well as a Liveryman and Freeman of the City of London. 

His former postitions include; Chair of London & South East Packaging Society,  chair of the Education and Training Committee, recipient of the IOM3 Outstanding Service award and visiting professor at Sheffield Hallam University.
