Effective Management of Contractors
This is a new addition to the CPD portfolio of courses that are recommended by the Joint Advisory Board to ensure continued competency of its Quarry Managers.
Aim of the course
To provide course members with:
- An overview of contractors within the sector
- A basic awareness of legislation
- An awareness of ODM Regulations
- The knowledge and skills to manage the employment of contractors in the extractive and mineral processing industry

For people who:
- Any person who has responsibility or is involved in the management of contractors
Course Content
The course includes:
- The role of the Contractor
- Legislation Awareness
- ODM Regulations Update
- Responsibilities for managing contractors
- Selecting the contractor (including competence and induction)
- Practical Steps in the Management of contractors
Duration and delivery:
This is a one day training course classroom based
- Short lectures
- Group discussions
- Multiple choice assessment
- Practical assessment
Successful completion of the course leads to a Certificate of Achievement and constitutes 7 hours of CPD
